But I'm a Good Boy

So until the baby comes, all I have to really talk about is our first baby, Louie. For those of you who don't know him, Louie is a pretty jumpy dog. Even more so now that I am pregnant, he is suddenly so protective of me, especially when the Rocher Chocolate commercial is on ( he is not a fan of the doorbell). It is a little known fact that Louie's famous trick is giving manicures to any one person willing to lend him their hand for a few minutes, we think it calms him. However, he has recently began to eat various places on his body, mainly his front leg. So last night, I attempted to play vet and put a bandage on so he would stop chewing and making himself bleed. Eric had the unfortunate job of holding him while I patched him up. Louie did not like this one bit and I had to reassure him he would get a "cookie" if he was a good boy. Meanwhile Eric is getting mad and telling me to hurry up because he can no longer hold him. I reassured him by saying if he was a good boy he could have a Reese Cup, which sparked uncontrollable laughter...I may have peed a little! I think you had to be there but here is the two of them sitting for their "cookies"!

Bless my husband and dog for being good sports for providing me with some humor!

6 Months and Counting

As Christmas quickly approaches, so does the size of my belly! We spent the day yesterday shopping and decorating our house for the holidays and we were both exhausted by the time this picture was taken. We always buy a real tree because Eric and I both feel so strongly against the fake, plastic one time buy kind. This is our beautiful tree for the year and my beautiful pregnant belly to match. Thank you to my husband who has been so understanding about my various levels of emotion, especially while putting up the tree.....I love you and you are a wonderful man.

Practice Makes Perfect

We made the trek to Chicago for Turkey Day and had the pleasure of spending two whole days with our cutie pie niece, Genevieve. Her Mom and Dad were there too, as well as Grandma, Grandpa and even Uncle Ryan graced us with his presence. I think this is partially due to the fact that Grandma purchased a Wii for the whole family to enjoy. I think my arm is still sore from all the bowling and tennis and a little Mario Kart. But we both got in some baby practice with Miss Genevieve, she especially liked it when Uncle Eric made noises with his mouth. This is a picture of the two of them taking a break from watching college football, but I think she is more interested in her duck!

U Scream, I Scream....Louie Screams for Ice Cream

Louie is definitely reaping the benefits of my pregnancy...he loves the leftovers of my strawberry milkshake. Proceed with caution, he may take your hand off!

First trip to Babies R' US

On Monday night we decided it would be a good idea to start looking for cribs for our baby girl. I thought Babies R' Us would be the best place to start since they have a large selection of what we were looking for. Needless to say, if you have ever been there, it can seem a bit overwhelming. So the next evening after my husband's long drive home from West Lafayette, we made our attempt to pick out a crib. Walking into the store, I immediately dart to all the cute little girl clothes on the sale racks and poor Eric has this look of exhaustion on his face. I can almost hear what he is thinking...."All of this is for babies". Before he turns to run for the door, I leave a purple dress to grab my husband by the hand and lead him to the cribs in the back of the store. This causes more confusion and it has now spread to me! There are just so many to choose.....black, white, pine, natural, espresso, drop down, convertible, it's never ending and to make matters worse we don't share the same appreciation for baby furniture! By the end of the hour long shopping trip, I had used the bathroom twice, no three times and both of our feet hurt. We did narrow it down to the only three cribs we could agree on! Wish us luck on future baby shopping endeavors!

We're really having a baby!

Immediately after getting off the plane from Charleston, we went to the OB for our first ultrasound! I am a pretty anxious person, but I don't think I have ever been this excited. It was truly an amazing experience to see our baby for the first time. We saw her (yes, it's a girl if you haven't heard) cross her legs, yawn and put her hands over her ears when the tech became too liberal pushing on my belly! I am still in a cloud that I am actually having a baby and now a daughter.....I get lost in my head just thinking about it! We are so excited and cannot wait for her arrival. We were able to get a DVD of the whole process and are happy to share it with you. To tell you the truth though, I wish we could have had a camera on Eric and I, because I am sure it was just as a entertaining. I cried and Eric sat there with his mouth open! It's about 4 minutes long (we had to shorten it from 15 minutes) and the tech labels everything for those of not sure what's being pointed out, parents-to-be to be included. Yeah, we're having a baby girl!!!!!

Charleston here we come!

My lovely husband surprised me yet again for my birthday....he knows how much I love surprises! We left Indy on Halloween to spend the weekend with Missy and Ryan in beautiful Charleston. We also got to meet the newest addition to their family. Marley is the most cuddly dog, but also a bit of a face licker! He keeps their other dog, Pepper, on her toes and they both provided hours of entertainment for their guests. The Reeds took us to eat great food and showed us all the sites around Charleston. My favorite was the oldest tree east of the Mississippi. The Angel Oak is believed to be over 1500 years old. Many of the branches grew out instead of up and are touching the ground. Thanks Missy and Ryan, it was great to see you and your new home! We can't wait to come back!

Hello to my favorite people

Well, I have been threatening to do this for awhile, start a blog that is. Mainly I wanted to do it to keep all of our loved ones informed about the new addition to our lives. You know, the baby coming to this world sometime at the end of March. I thought it would be nice to keep pictures, ultrasounds, and lots of other fun stuff to keep you informed about ourselves. Please feel free to leave comments and check back as often as you would like. We hope you enjoy!
